Pork

Our pigs are heritage breed Tamworths. They’re grazed on newly cleared land, pasture, and grazing crops and are rotated through different paddocks every few weeks.

When they’re moved out of a paddock, we seed that field with a grazing crop such as turnips, oats, corn, and winter rye. When these crops are ready, the pigs return. This rotation improves the fertility of the land and greatly increases the flavor and quality of the pork.

In addition to the grazing, the pigs get a soy-free diet of organic grains and skim milk. When the pigs aren’t grazing during the winter months, we give them hay.

Misty Brook Farm is committed to the health and wellbeing of our pigs, as well as to the high quality and flavor of their pork.

Our soy-free, organic pastured pork is available frozen. Pork products include chops, roasts, loin, hocks, ribs, tenderloin, ham roast, ham steak, bacon, ground, organs, bones, and fat & lard.
