Our Tamworth Pigs
Our heritage breed Tamworth pigs forage on newly cleared land, pasture, and crop fields. They are moved to a fresh pasture every week throughout the grazing season.
When they’re moved out of a paddock, we often seed that field with a grazing crop such as turnips, oats, and winter rye. When they are pasturing on a crop field we plant winter wheat in the fall that will be harvested the next summer. This rotation improves the fertility of the land and greatly increases the flavor and quality of the pork.
Misty Brook Farm is committed to the health and wellbeing of our pigs, as well as to the high quality and flavor of our pork.
Our soy-free, organic pastured pork is available frozen. Pork products include chops, roasts, loin, hocks, ribs, tenderloin, ham roast, ham steak, bacon, ground, organs, bones, and fat & lard.

Our Pork Program
Seasonally, we offer whole or sides of pork available for purchase. This is a great way to stock up on all the best cuts, pork bacon and pork belly, to tenderloins and packages of ground pork. Limited Pork Sides Available.
Our certified organic, pastured Tamworth pork sides are available seasonally. Below is an example of what you can expect from a 100 lb hanging weight side:
100 lb Hanging Weight Yields Approximately:
- 12 lb Loin Chops & Roast
- 2 lb Spare Ribs
- 9 lb Ground Pork
- 15 lb Fresh Ham Steaks & Roasts (can be smoked)
- 8 lb Shoulder Roasts (can be smoked)
- 5 lb Butt Roast or Chops
- 8 lb Fresh Bacon Slab (can be smoked & sliced)
- 4 lb Hock (can be smoked)
- 7 lb Fat (great for making lard)
Pricing (please call for updated pricing):
Total Yield: $7/lb hanging weight, Slaughter: $45, Cutting: $0.80/lb hanging weight, Smoking: $1.75/lb (nitrate-free), 100 lb hanging weight yields about 70 lb of cuts for approximately $840 (with only the bacon smoked).
Deposit: $300 to hold your side
