Our grains are grown in a rotation and utilize compost from our livestock. We grow a wide variety of dry beans, pop corn, and grains for milling. We grow heirloom Red Fife wheat, which is a hard red spring wheat for whole wheat bread flour. We grow winter wheat for whole pastry flour and winter rye for whole rye flour too. We also grow open pollinated Early Riser field corn for corn meal. The straw from these grains is used to keep our cows warm and dry through the winter months. The grain is combined with our 1950’s Allis-Chalmers #90 combine. After combining it is cleaned to separate the chaff and weed seeds from the grains. Then stone ground into fresh flour or corn meal as needed for your enjoyment!
