The Pigs are heritage breed Tamworths and Tamworth crosses. They are grazed on newly cleared land, pasture, and grazing crops. They are rotated through different paddocks every few weeks. When they are moved out of a paddock it is seeded down with a grazing crop such as turnips, oats, corn, and winter rye. When these crops are ready the pigs return. This rotation improves the fertility of the land and greatly increases the flavor and quality of the pork. In addition to the grazing the pigs get a soy-free diet of organic grains and skim milk. When the pigs are not grazing during the winter months they are fed haylage. We are committed to the health and well being of our pigs as well as the high quality and flavor of their pork.
